Celine & Jason's Wedding at The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery
Celine and Jason had the most romantic, whimsical wedding day at the Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery in Walnut Creek, California. This wedding was beyond beautiful, with the perfect balance of emotion and tradition.
A Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony Before The Wedding
Celine and Jason started their special day with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, a meaningful celebration with their closest family members. A Chinese tea ceremony is a beautiful custom where the couple shows respect and gratitude to their families. I was so grateful to not only be a part of their wedding ceremony, but the fact that they had me capture the tea ceremony prior was such an honor to witness. This tradition helped to set the vibe for the rest of their wedding day!
After the tea ceremony, Celine changed into her wedding dress, and we made our way to their wedding venue. The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery, this garden is unlike most wedding venues when you think of garden party weddings. Since the Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery is a dry garden, it features drought-tolerant plants, like aloe and cacti. This was the perfect place to host their wedding celebration since they wanted to be surrounded by nature, but these plants thrive in the California climate making it the perfect backdrop to dress it up with colorful florals.
The Best Whimsical Wedding Florals
Their incredibly talented florist, Priya, did such a good job bringing Celine's floral dreams to life. Mixing warm tones, pastel colors, and even citrus with little pink accents to fill the space. One of the standout pieces was the moon-shaped floral arch at the altar for Celine and Jason to exchange their vows under. I had never seen anything like it! This special touch added to the whimsical and celestial wedding ceremony. Celine and Jason's ceremony was so special, with vows that had the tears flowing.
Following the ceremony, the reception was so fun, with Celine and Jason going from table to table, greeting all their guests individually. One of my favorite parts of the evening was the reception table centerpieces; they were such a dream to photograph. Each table was meticulously decorated with pastel florals with colors that popped against the green backdrop of the garden.
Every detail was a photographer's dream to photograph, from the natural gardens, the sweetest family, and the gorgeous floral arrangements. The blend of traditions and whimsical floral arrangements, set against the Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery backdrop, was definitely a day to remember! It embodied everything a garden wedding should be, colorful and full of love! So grateful I got to join in on this special wedding day!
