I first met Sammy six years ago when I took her graduation photos, of course, with Patrick cheering her on during this major milestone! Since then, I've been able to document their journey through life and love. From that first session, which was a graduation session, then to their engagement photos, and FINALLY their wedding day!! It's been a full-circle moment; I can't wait to continue capturing the major milestones in their new life together. Being able to follow couples through their lives is sooo special for me, the fact that couples trust me to be a part of these moments together with them makes me happy.

The day before their wedding, I met Sammy and Patrick at The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa, where they stayed for their wedding weekend. Having a sweet little couples session before the wedding was so sweet! They popped champagne, ate chocolates, and got all cozy in the hotel before the storm hit. Sammy's beautiful dress definitely deserved its own photoshoot, so I was more than happy to capture this exciting night for the two of them!

Getting Married Where Their Relationship Started

Sammy and Patrick choose to get married at Lake Tahoe because of how much it means to their relationship. Their love story began with a first date in Lake Tahoe and continued with countless trips, from snowboarding and dinner dates to going to the lake and exploring. It was the perfect backdrop for their wedding. Their venue, Valhalla Tahoe, is a mix of rustic charm and beautiful scenery, the perfect spot for couples looking to get married surrounded by nature.

Mother Nature decided to give them a wedding gift of snow on their wedding day, transforming the surrounding area into a winter wonderland. If rain on your wedding day is lucky, I can't even imagine how lucky snow is! Despite the 20-degree weather, the guests were all cozy inside, excited to see Sammy and Patrick say, "I do." But before the ceremony, Sammy and Patrick had a first look outside on the dock, where they braved the cold to have a special moment together before the wedding. Patrick turned around to see Sammy and could NOT stop smiling; it was the sweetest moment for just the two of them.

Every time they visit Lake Tahoe, they will have this milestone to relive each time. From first dates to wedding day, Lake Tahoe will always be a special place for Sammy and Patrick. I'm so grateful to be a part of this milestone for them now!
