This was a super fun SoCal desert engagement session with Cyrus and Emily! We took a road trip to Palm Springs, ran around the Palm Springs neighborhood, and just pretended like we lived there in those super nice houses, LOL! It was such a blast getting to know Emily and Cyrus' love story and running around the Palm Springs neighborhood. After that, we ended up taking a drive to Joshua Tree for even more desert fun and some Joshua Tree engagement photos! We explored Joshua Tree, took in the sunset views, and enjoyed the nice warm sun. As a Joshua Tree photographer, I can still say that explring this location never gets old! We were laughing, giggling, and telling each other stories about how we both met our significant others. Emily and Cyrus met on Hinge, and as it turns out, my boyfriend and I met on hinge too! I love getting to know my couples during their engagement sessions.

Emily + Cyrus' Sweet Love Story

Through hour-long Facetime calls, Emily and Cyrus got to know each other before meeting up. Their first date began in a coffee shop, then they headed to a nearby park where they talked for hours more! She loved the fact that their conversations didn't feel forced, they were so organic and natural. Emily loves the playful relationship she has with Cyrus and how they are like their juvenile selves with one another. Emily's singing is a favorite of Cyrus's. When Emily and Cyrus are home together, they enjoy staying in their pajamas and sharing wine and hot cocoa together. Cyrus loves hosting hotpot and BBQ nights, while Emily enjoys socializing!

As for their romantic proposal. Emily expected the proposl to happen, until Cyrus called her twice at work that day. While Cyrus was supposed to teach a class, he facetimed Emily during his lunch while Emily was on her way to meet up with her best friend for brunch in Santa Monica. Emily believed the proposal would never happen when she seen Cyrus was still at work. Fast forward, Emily was enjoying food and company while Cyrus was setting up a romantic beach picnic. Marie bought time with some mimosas and eventually got Emily to the spot. She thought some Korean boy was taking vibey photos on the beach but when she got closer, she realized it was a proposal! And now here we are, taking some fun retro Palm Spring's and Joshua Tree engagement photos!
