We met in Nevada County, CA, near the Emerald Pools at the Yuba River. This is a secret spot I found when going on backpacking trips with my boyfriend. Just a 1.5-hour drive from Sacramento, this hidden gem in the mountains was the perfect backdrop for Bri and Jaden's mountain engagement photos; they wanted to capture their love for nature and combine it with their passion for country style.
Bri and Jaden are the kind of couple who love adventure. They wanted their engagement photos to showcase the California mountains, green fields, and the lake. I was so happy they were down to take a short hike and get to the spot dressed in their full coastal cowboy outfits, including cowboy boots! That's some dedication that we love to see for photos! As we set out on the short walk to this secret spot, they were so excited to see this spot with their own eyes.
What I absolutely loved about this shoot was how Bri and Jaden incorporated their personalities and passions into the session. We played country music in the background during their session, they walked the trails, laughed, and cuddled in the tall grass, all while I snapped away on my camera.

My favorite part of this engagement session was when they decided to get into the water towards the end of our session. It was spontaneous and so much fun! I was able to get the most perfect playful shots that felt like I was watching a date from a romance novel happen right in front of me. As they laughed and splashed in the water, I captured their reflection in the lake, iconic shots that captured their love in nature. This engagement session blended everything Bri and Jaden love: the mountains, the country vibes, and each other!
